CONSOLIDATED RESPONSES TO THE FAX-BACK FORMS

The total number of responses from which this analysis has been prepared is 63. Numbers do not always add up – if a respondent did not select either the YES or the NO for a particular question, no score was recorded. The majority of participants want to see information of the type that we provide in the Biomateria Newsletter and on the Biomateria Web-site. The targets evoking the greatest overall responses were information on Brite-EuRam programme, opportunities for creating collaborations and news of future EC programmes relevant to biomaterials. It is not yet clear whether the Brite-EuRam programme will remain under this name in FP5; however, we intend to establish the Biomateria media as the first port-of-call for relevant information during the next 18 months.

Additional content questions were included to test how specialised the Biomateria Newsletter and web-site could become. Market information is greatly needed by respondents. We will be exploring how we can best gather and present this information. We will also be taking advantage of the willingness of a good number of respondents to provide articles, and to contribute details of their own organisations, in order to enhance the value of the Biomateria web-site and Biomateria Newsletter.
