 Development of standardised test methods for cytocompatibility

considering special demands on implants and medical products

for the medical device industry

‘Standardised cytocompatability testing of biomaterials for application

as medical devices’.

The manual gives detailed information about a standardised cytotoxicity

test procedure and its test methods. One of the main aims, the (semi-)

automatic evaluation, is described. Information concerning the cell

culturing, the cell line, the needed materials and the equipment is given.

Furthermore the manual contains information about negative control

materials for IOL and catheter-manufacturing.
