This project aims to
assess the feasibility and quality of smooth and |

hard ceramic coatings
(ZrO2, AI2O3) produced by state-of-the-art |
|
coating technologies on
dental implants and knee prostheses |
|
(engineering and
biological tests), and then to select the most |
|
promising coatings and
submit them to in vivo (animal) testing. |
| Achievements |

Assessment of coating
techniques runs on schedule. PVD and |
|
plasm-spary coatings with
suitable properties have been obtained. In |
|
vivo tests will start in
August 1998. |
