The European Conference on Integration in Manufacturing - IiM '98 IMS Post Conference

A conference called IiM'98 was held on 6-8 October 1998 in Goteborg, Sweden, with the IMS Post-Conference on 9 October, at which there was dissemination of information about IMS project results, the implementation of IMS in Europe and opportunities to exchange experiences in international collaboration. The meeting was attended by an audience comprising manufacturing engineers and managers, quality process engineers, as well as IT suppliers/vendors, academic researchers, technology transfer centres and industrial associations. The first part of the Post-Conference consisted of a comprehensive overview of IMS, its strategic direction and implementation, given by leading personalities in IMS at international and European level. Then, the technical and industrial results of some selected international IMS projects were presented by key people directly involved. The conference ended with an extended Questions and Answers session.

IMS Forum in Europe

At its seventh meeting, the International Steering Committee agreed that an IMS Forum be held in 1999 in Europe, incorporating both IPR and technological elements as well as a strategic future review of manufacturing. Work is in progress to organise this exciting Forum.
